Common Reasons Pets Come In
There are many reasons that a pet may be brought into our office for urgent veterinary care. For example, some pet owners may bring their pets in when they notice the pet is not eating, or is having trouble keeping down food or even water. This can obviously be a very stressful situation for both pets and pet owners. Another common reason people may bring their pets into our office is that the pet has experienced a seizure or accidentally ingested some kind of toxin.
Physical trauma, such as a broken bone or a serious laceration from an animal attack, car accident, or other incident may also prompt an owner to bring their pet into our office for urgent care services.

Symptoms to Watch Out For
As a pet owner, there are some important “red flags” that you should always be on the lookout for and that could indicate a serious medical problem for your pet. Some symptoms that would require immediate veterinary attention include:
inability to keep food or water down
diarrhea
deep lacerations and wounds
broken or fractured bones
difficulty breathing or heavy breathing
known ingestion of allergens or toxins
If your pet is exhibiting any of these signs, it is important to seek veterinary care as soon as possible. Do not wait until the following day or to see if symptoms go away, because these could be the sign of a life-threatening medical condition. Remember: you know your pet better than anybody else, so if your pet is acting out of the ordinary, it’s time to take action.

“This place made me feel very secure. It’s a relief knowing there’s a great 24 hour animal hospital only about 15 minutes away. Professional care and service. They also follow up to inquire about the animal’s health after discharge. My kitten received timely care after a health scare and was on the up and up quickly after the staff intervened and provided some sq fluids and a treatment plan that worked. A big thanks to this place!”
