Como Park Animal Hospital and Laser Surgery Center

"Where excellence in pet care is just a walk to the Park"

Services

Because of the shorter lifespan of our pets, we stress the importance of bi-annual (every 6 months) physical examinations. Thorough check-ups, blood screens, and preventive care can help alleviate serious health problems. We offer a wide range of veterinary services to keep your companions feeling their best:

Diagnostic and Therapeutic Services:  Our hospital is equipped to provide diagnostic and therapeutic services to care for your pets' complete health care needs.

Surgical Services:  Our state-of-the-art laser surgical suite provides for the performance of a wide variety of surgical procedures.

Anesthesia:  We utilize the safest available anesthetics to provide an extra margin of safety, especially for our older, high-risk patients and exotics. Using the most modern equipment, the patient's vital signs are monitored during all anesthetic procedures.

Internal medicine consults: We offer in-hospital referrals to an internal medicine specialist who performs ultrasounds and echocardiograms, which may help us with the diagnosis of more complicated cases.

Radiology Services:  Our on-site, digital X-ray equipment provides high quality radiographs to aid in the quick diagnosis of many disorders.
Radiographs are reviewed by Dr. Feeney, a board certified radiologist from the University of Minnesota Veterinary Medical Center.

Electrocardiography Services:  We provide ECG services on-site, as well as consultations with cardiology specialists.

Dentistry:  Our dental services include thorough tooth and periodontal cleaning and polishing, digital dental X-rays, tooth extractions and minor oral surgery.

Laboratory:  Our in-house laboratory facilities provide for serum chemistry, hematology, serology, urinalysis, cytology and parasite testing. We also utilize commercial veterinary laboratories for specialized diagnostics and consultations.

Microchip identification / Health Certificates: We offer implantation of HomeAgain identification microchips, which are recognized worldwide and are required for international travel.  Also, we offer health certificates for animals who will be traveling within the U.S. and internationally.

Pharmacy:  We maintain a complete inventory of pharmaceuticals, vitamins, shampoos, flea and tick control products and heartworm preventatives to meet the needs of your pet. We also carry a full line of prescription diets.

Individualized Parasite Control Programs:  We develop programs for the specific needs of your pet and your own particular environmental situation. We will review with you the best ways to control parasites in your house, in your yard and on your pet.

Dietary Counseling:  We will provide guidance regarding your pet's nutritional needs for each life stage, including dietary requirements for growth, weight maintenance and performance.

Behavioral Counseling:  We can provide advice regarding the correction of problems such as excessive barking, chewing, spraying, scratching, digging, house soiling and aggression.

Boarding:  We provide pet boarding for all types of pets as a service to our clients. All boarders receive personal attention from our caring staff. Pets may be dropped off and picked up during regular business hours Monday through Saturday. Dogs need to be vaccinated for DHLPPC, Rabies, and Bordetella.  Cats need to be vaccinated for PRC, Rabies, and tested and vaccinated for Feline Leukemia.  A negative fecal sample is required within the last 6 months for all animals.

Grooming:  We provide routine nail trimming for dogs, cats, birds and small animals.  Anal gland expression is available by appointment.  Wing clipping and beak manicures are available by appointment for birds.  Routine and therapeutic bathing services are available by appointment.  All grooming services are available to current patients only (animals that have had a veterinary examination within the last 12 months).
