Como Park Animal Hospital
Virtual Clinic Tour

Enjoy this virtual tour of our hospital.  If you would like to see us in person, please call or stop by
our location, and a member of our staff would be happy to show you around.
(Please note, we're always happy to meet new people, but if we are very busy, we may suggest
another time when we can give your tour our full attention)

Como Park Animal Hospital is located at 1014 Dale Street N, in St. Paul, at the crossroads
of Dale St. and Lawson Ave.  (For maps & directions, see the Location page of this website).
Clients are welcome to park in our private parking lot, or on the surrounding residential streets.

Upon arrival in the parking lot, you will see that our clinic has been the location of
several local artists instillations
-- including a spectacular pirate themed mural by a local artist, who's work graces various locations in the area as a part of a neighborhood revitalization project

as well as a Snoopy sculpture, which is part of the city funded art series commemorating Charles Schulz creator of the Peanuts cartoons).

The eye catching colors don't stop outside.  Dr. Wetherill commissioned a panoramic mural to be painted the length of our interior hallway.  From Dr. O, the medical orangatan, to bandit raccoons, to grease-monkey pigs, there's so much to see, you will find something new every time you walk through it.

Upon entering our lobby, you will be greeted by our friendly reception staff.
While you wait, you can browse our selection of prescription diets, pet care products, treats and supplements, or enjoy a cup of coffee or tea and a magazine or other pet related reading material.

We have 4 fully equipped examination rooms,

as well as a 5th "quiet" room for consultations, visiting hospitalized pets, euthanasia, etc.

After the doctor's examination in the exam room, most pets are taken to our treatment area, in the back room of the hospital, for vaccinations, bloodwork, medication, radiology, and other procedures.

This area is also used for preparing animals for surgery, observing critical patients and those recovering from anesthesia, and general patient care.
Dental treatments and cleanings are performed at a special dental station in the treatment room.

Our surgical suite features state-of-the-art CO2 Laser Unit (see the Laser Surgery page for more details),
patient monitoring - EKG, pulse oximetry, blood pressure, and temperature monitors - negative pressure air system and emergency defibrilator.

Our digital radiograph (x-ray) unit allows our doctors almost immediate viewing, digital refocusing
and enhancement of x-rays, as well as an overnight referral and report from Dr. Feeney, a
board certified radiologist.

This also allows our staff to send and receive digital radiographs via CD-rom and/or websites.
CDs can be sent along with patient records for referrals, transfers, etc.

All lab samples (blood, urine, fecal, tissue, etc) are either run in our on-site laboratory, by our staff, or prepared and expedited to an off-site laboratory for testing.

This area also houses our extensive on-site veterinary library, giving our veterinarians and staff quick reference for all species.

We offer boarding for our clients not only for their dogs and cats, but also for birds, ferrets, rabbits, pocket pets, and reptiles.  Birds are kept in a separate room, with a higher climate controlled temperature and noise dampening door.

Dogs are housed in a kennel area in the lower level of the clinic.

A room off the main treatment area is used to house cats, ferrets, rabbits, and other pocket pets.

We also have 2 separate isolation/special care units where hospitalized animals with highly or
potentially contagious diseases can be housed and cared for without risk of contamination
to other animals on the premises.
